Last spring the film production company Hobby Animation, together with the Republican Association of Sweden and media network Nyheter24, announced a film competition where the best idea/contribution to dismiss the Swedish monarchy was rewarded with a commercial. The jury, consisting of people such as Gudrun Schyman, Carl Johan De Geer, Mårten Knutsson and Arvid Svanvik, have now chosen their winner.
“We have received contributions from all over the world, even all the way from Australia, and the winner is the Norwegian DDB creative duo Julian Hageman and Torkil Jarnholt. They had a humorous idea, showing how unfashionable it actually is to have a monarchy in a democratic society. By showing historical madness, which thankfully belongs to the past, we hope that the viewer will understand that even the monarchy needs to retire “, says Republican Association chairman Peter Althin .
Kristofer Ström, director at Hobby Animation, has created the movie.
“I’ve always been an opponent against injustice and inequality. Monarchy symbolizes just that for me. The fact that the script contained goodies such as slaves, unjustified executions, blood, warts and of course the king, made it a dream job for me.”
The film, “Monarchy - time for retirement,” is being launched today and the Republican Association hope that it will stimulate debate about the Swedish Royal Family’s future.

STPLN presents the first online event for illustration and design created in Mexico.

This event brings together six illustrators and several special guests to draw continuously for 48 hours and will be transmitted via online without interruption. Their talent, creativity and ingenuity are brought to the extreme in a two days long sketch marathon. The audience decides what to produce and their wishes expressed through Facebook, Twitter, or the website. Their job is to create on command

I was invited to have a speach at Visuelt in Oslo. Erik Buchholtz joined as moral support and VJ during the “show”.
Afterwards we hooked up with Ian Stevenson and Espen Schive for one, two, three…drinks.
Many hours of a discussion about the next big thing, SpaceCrime.
I recorded some of the discussion and the day after sketching started.
A couple of days later, it was finished…voliá!

Don’t commit the crime if you can’t do the SpaceTime.
